Apple has announced details related to WWDC 24 through their Newsroom.

Although WWDC is a developer conference, it’s also a chance for iPhone and iPad users to preview new features in iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and more. Since new iPhones, iPads, and Macs often don’t bring huge changes compared to existing devices, software updates become even more exciting. This is why I always make sure to catch the event.

Apple’s WWDC24 will take place on June 11, 2024, at 2 AM KST. As I write this, we have about 12 days left until the event. Apple has shared detailed information about the event’s key announcements and schedule through their Newsroom. Here’s a summary.

Event Overview

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will be held online from June 10 to June 14, 2024 (local time). This conference promises a week full of technological innovations and learning opportunities, providing insights into the latest technologies, tools, and frameworks introduced in iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS. The event is free and open to the global Apple developer community.

Keynote Presentation

The WWDC24 keynote will start on June 10 at 10 AM (Cupertino local time). This session will introduce groundbreaking updates for Apple platforms expected later this year. The keynote will be live-streamed on apple.com, the Apple Developer app, the Apple TV app, and Apple’s YouTube channel. It will also be available on-demand after the event.

Platforms State of the Union

Following the keynote, the Platforms State of the Union will take place on June 10 at 1 PM (Cupertino local time). This session will provide an in-depth look at the latest advanced features and new tools in iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS. The session will be streamed via the Apple Developer app and website and will be available on-demand after the event.

Meet the Experts

Members of the Apple Developer Program and Apple Developer Enterprise Program can participate in online labs and in-depth consultations to meet Apple experts, gain guidance on applying the latest technologies, learn best practices, and improve their apps and games. Additionally, developers can meet engineers and designers in the Apple Developer Forums for technical assistance.

Technical Sessions and Guides

Over 100 technical sessions will be held throughout the week, providing developers with in-depth knowledge from Apple engineers, designers, and other experts. These sessions will be available on the Apple Developer app, website, and YouTube channel. This year, curated guides will help developers navigate important announcements and sessions.

Swift Student Challenge

Apple continues to support the next generation of developers, creators, and entrepreneurs through various programs, including the Swift Student Challenge. This year, 50 outstanding winners will be invited to Apple Park for special activities during WWDC week.

Apple Design Awards

The Apple Design Awards celebrate the best-designed apps and games, highlighting the craftsmanship, creativity, and technical expertise of developers. The finalists are now available on the Apple Developer website and app, with winners to be announced soon.

Developer App

The Apple Developer app is an excellent way to experience WWDC24 on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro. Developers can stay updated with the latest news, video sessions, announcements, and events. The app also allows for session registration, deep dive consultations, and collaborative viewing of video sessions via SharePlay.

Additional Resources

All WWDC content, session registrations, key announcements, guides, and various resources are available on developer.apple.com.

I’m especially looking forward to the Keynote presentation and the Apple Design Awards on the first day. I’ll be sure to share updates on the Keynote announcements and the results of the Apple Design Awards once they are released.
